Pro Bowl Roster

The Eagles had six players named to the Pro Bowl Games, the NFL announced today.

Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, and Cam Jurgens all were named to the Pro Bowl after weeks of voting by fans and players. Each player is considered the first team player for the NFC.

The Eagles’ six players puts them tied for third in the league in terms of number of players voted to the Pro Bowl roster, along with the Minnesota Vikings. Only the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Ravens, with seven and nine, respectively, had more players voted to the Pro Bowl.

For Zack Baun, Jalen Carter, and Cam Jurgens, this is their first Pro Bowl appearance. Saquon Barkley and Landon Dickerson made the Pro Bowl three times apiece, while Lane Johnson made the Pro Bowl six times in his decade-plus career.

The Pro Bowl has taken on various forms over the years, more recently being a skill competition and flag football game between all star players from the AFC and NFC. In years past, the Pro Bowl was played after the Super Bowl; starting in 2015, the game was played during the week between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. In 2022, Omaha Productions, which is owned by former QB Peyton Manning, partnered with the NFL to produce the Pro Bowl Games format currently in use.

While rosters are announced before the playoffs start, players named to the Pro Bowl whose teams make the Super Bowl do not play in the Pro Bowl Games. In this case, alternates are selected to fill out the roster.
