Update Feb. 11, 1:51 PM: The City of Philadelphia announced a press conference with further details on the parade route on February 11 at 11 AM. The City confirmed in the release that the route will go from the sports complex to the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps. More information will be released at the press conference.
The Eagles’ Super Bowl parade will occur on Friday, February 14, according to Eagles President Don Smolenski.
Smolenski went on the Sportsradio 94 WIP morning show to make the announcement, which was teased overnight on X (formerly Twitter).
“We are holding Friday,” Smolenski. “Friday will be the day.”
A big factor in the decision was the weather situation. With an inbound snowstorm on Tuesday that is projected to linger into Wednesday, the city will need to clean up the area.
“We’ve got to be respectful for the city to do what they need to do,” Smolenski said. “One extra day of planning doesn’t hurt, and you know what, it’s a nice way to kick off the weekend.”
Additional details, such as timing and route, have not yet been confirmed by the city of Philadelphia. These details are likely forthcoming later today. Smolenski teased that there would be something occurring later today with the city.
