The Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles will kick off the 2025 NFL Season with the Kickoff Game on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
The first game of the NFL Season, dubbed the Kickoff Game, is customarly hosted by the defending Super Bowl champions. Following the Eagles’ victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX to bring home the team’s second Vince Lombardi Trophy, the Eagles will be the home team for the game. Kickoff for this game is at 8:20 PM, like other Thursday night games.. NBC owns the broadcast rights for the Kickoff Game, so the game will not be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video and is not considered part of the Thursday Night Football package.
The NFL officially announces the 2025 NFL schedule in the weeks following the NFL Draft, which is when Eagles fans will learn the full week-by-week schedule including kickoff times. Therefore, the Eagles’ opening week opponent is not yet known. The NFL confirmed each team’s home and away opponents earlier this year, so the kickoff opponent will be one of the teams the Eagles are designated to host in 2025.
Though the team still has yet to go through free agency and the NFL Draft, the opening kickoff game will be Eagles fans’ first chance to see Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts, Head Coach Nick Sirianni, and other members of the Super Bowl Champion team in action.
