The Eagles finished the preseason with a 19-17 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The game was the final chance for players on the bubble to vie for spots on the 53-man roster, which is due on Tuesday at 4 PM ET.

Backup QB Kyle McCord played all game, and struggled throughout the night. He went 15 for 35 in the passing game with just 136 yards and an interception. His favorite receiver was Terrace Marshall, who had 5 catches on 7 targets for 51 yards.

The Eagles adjusted offensively with a sustained ground attack. Montrell Johnson had 57 yards on 15 carries, while Keilan Robinson had 23 yards on 9 carries throughout the game. All told, however, the Eagles put up 199 yards of offense on the Jets.

The Eagles’ defense had some strong performers. OLBs Patrick Johnson and Antwaun Powell-Ryland both netted a sack against the Jets’ quarterbacks. The Eagles’ defense also held each of the Jets’ QBs to less than 100 yards of passing, though the Jets were able to put up 309 yards of offense on the Eagles, in large part due to missed tackles by the Eagles’ backups. The Eagles’ defense was also able to pick off Jets QBs Adrian Martinez and Brady Cook once apiece.

Backup S Maxen Hook was a presence in the secondary, netting 6 combined tackles for the Eagles.

Eagles special teams were also on point during the game. Eagles K Jake Elliott made two field goals from more than 50 yards out early in the game, one from 51 yards and the other from 53 yards. He also did not allow a touchback, which would have put the ball at the Jets’ 35 yard line under the new rules.

With just a few days to make decisions, the big open question is who will start at cornerback opposite Quinyon Mitchell. Eagles Head Coach Nick Sirianni was mum about this topic following the game, though Adoree Jackson did not play at all during the game, which is a promising sign for him.

Once the Eagles’ roster is announced, the team will have a few days to prepare for the season opener on September 4 at Lincoln Financial Field, where they will host the Dallas Cowboys.
