Eagles Can Clinch Playoffs With Win Over Dallas And Help
The Eagles can once again clinch a playoff berth with a win and some help.
The most straightforward ways are if the Eagles win. If they win, they need a loss or a tie from the Seattle Seahawks or the Los Angeles Rams to clinch a spot. The Seahawks play the San Francisco 49ers while the Rams play the Baltimore Ravens. Both games are likely to be losses for these teams, but the Seahawks are in a divisional game and those are often difficult to predict.
If both of those teams win, the Eagles can still clinch with additional help from the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers would have to lose or tie against the New York Giants. Then, a loss from the Detroit Lions, who play the Chicago Bears, or a loss or a tie from the Minnesota Vikings against the Las Vegas Raiders would give the Eagles a playoff spot. All of this help is unlikely.
If the Eagles tie, things become much more complicated. They would need losses from either the Rams or Seahawks and then losses from the Packers or Vikings. If both the Packers and Vikings lose, no help would be needed from the NFC West teams.
The San Francisco 49ers can clinch with a victory over the Seahawks and a loss from the Packers or Vikings, or ties from both teams. The Dallas Cowboys can also clinch playoffs with a win over the Eagles, but their path is incredibly complicated and heavily conditional; they need help from both the NFC North and NFC West.
