Eagles Chief Security Officer Dom DiSandro will not be on the sideline during the Eagles’ matchup against the Cowboys this week.

According to a statement, DiSandro will be allowed to perform all of his other normal duties and travel with the team.

“This is an ongoing conversation with the NFL, and we are going to respect the restriction that is currently in place,“ the Eagles said in a statement on Saturday. “Although Dom will not be on the sideline this Sunday, he will continue to fulfill his role with the team in all other capacities.”

Aside from his sideline presence, DiSandro meets with security and medical personnel, along with other operational staff in advance of the game. DiSandro is also responsible for general security for the Eagles on game days.

DiSandro was asked to leave the sideline following an interaction between himself and San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Greenlaw, who was formally ejected from the game, may face additional sanctions for actually hitting DiSandro during the interaction. DiSandro, who had pushed Greenlaw away from the Eagles sideline, “contributed to the escalation,” according to Walt Anderson, NFL Vice President of Officiating.

DiSandro apologized to Greenlaw through intermediaries, according to Greenlaw during the week.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, DiSandro’s ban from the sideline is not a suspension. However, it is a developing situation that is still being reviewed, a league source told McLane.
