Eagles Announce Saint Joseph’s University As Official Higher Education Partner

SJU-Eagles-Partners-1

The Eagles and Saint Joseph’s University announced today that Saint Joseph’s University has become the official higher education partner of the Philadelphia Eagles.

“We are proud to welcome Saint Joseph’s as the Official Higher Education Partner of the Philadelphia Eagles,” said Brian Napoli, Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Philadelphia Eagles in a statement. “Saint Joseph’s is a highly accredited, top-ranked institution widely regarded for its commitment to academic excellence and preparing students for professional success. We look forward to advancing the careers of those in our region, and supporting the Philadelphia community, through our partnership.”

According to the statement, the Eagles will work with SJU to establish programs for students on the university’s campus on City Avenue. SJU students will benefit from internships, associate roles, and gameday positions. Members of the Eagles front office will also lead lectures throughout the academic year.

The Eagles and the University already enjoy a solid relationship. The Eagles Autism Foundation regularly supports the University’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support. This new partnership will deepen that relationship, too.

“Joining the efforts of our trailblazing Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support with those of the inspiring Eagles Autism Foundation will have an immense impact on the field of autism and those affected by it,” said SJU President Cheryl A. McConnell, PhD. “We are proud to join with an organization so embedded in the region with a like-minded mission of community engagement.”

The Eagles will also begin displaying signage for Saint Joseph’s University prominently at Lincoln Financial Field on gameday.

This is not the first partnership the Eagles have ventured into with a local college. The Eagles have leased space at Lincoln Financial Field to Temple University for its football team to play games on Saturdays. Temple has its own dedicated locker room at Lincoln Financial Field, but has been angling for a new stadium closer to its campus in North Philly for some time, according to various reports.

Saint Joseph’s University does not have a football team.
