Eagles Reportedly to Hire Kellen Moore

The Eagles key coaching staff is reportedly set.

The Eagles are reportedly going to hire Kellen Moore to be the team’s offensive coordinator, according to Ian Rapoport. Moore comes to Philly from the Los Angeles Chargers, where he spent the 2023 season.

Before being hired by the Chargers, Moore was offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys. He was an NFL backup quarterback for the Cowboys behind Tony Romo. He interviewed with the Cleveland Browns before reportedly confirming with Philly.

With this hire, the Eagles coordinators are set. Moore replaces Brian Johnson who was fired by the team earlier this week. He joins Vic Fangio, who was officially announced by the Eagles as the new defensive coordinator today.

Statistically, the Chargers’ offense was middle of the pack during the 2023 season. The offense was first in the league in interception rate, but the next highest offensive stat was sacks per pass attempt, which was 11th in the league at 6.80%.
