Medal favorite Ryan Cochran-Siegle earned his second-straight silver medal in the Men’s Super-G with a 1:25.45 finish time.

Cochran-Siegle, dubbed “RCS” in the skiing world, was one of the fastest in the training runs for this event, but Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen was 13 hundredths of a second faster than RCS and claimed the gold with a 1:25.32 finish time. Switzerland took two medals in the event as another medal favorite, Marco Odermatt, took the bronze medal.

The medal was of particular significance to RCS, as his mom, Barbara Cochran, won the gold medal in women’s slalom 54 years to the day. Cochran and RCS’s fiancée Jessie were on hand to cheer him on.

“I was selfish and I wasn’t sure if I wanted my mom to come here, just because it is such a big event,” the Burlington VT native said. “She was a little sick the last few days too, so I got to see her from a balcony yesterday, but I haven’t actually seen her in person, [that’ll] be nice. And then obviously, Jessie, too. She’s a huge part of my life. Sharing this moment with them is cool. I did not expect this, but obviously it’s nice to bring home some hardware.”

Von Allmen claimed his third gold medal of the 2026 Winter Olympics, having previously won gold in the men’s downhill and team combined events in his Olympic debut. It’s the first time any Swiss athlete has claimed gold thrice in the same games.
