The newest Eagles have jersey numbers! The Philadelphia Eagles today announced the jersey numbers for all ten draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft ahead of the 2025 Rookie Minicamp
Jersey numbers are generally picked by players and teams in collaboration, consistent with rules in place by the league which restrict jersey numbers for certain positions, a practice the league started in 1973. Notably, numbers between 50 and 79 are reserved for linemen, particularly offensive linemen who are designated as ineligible receivers by number. Quarterbacks are allowed to pick any number from 0-19, while most other players can choose numbers between 0 and 49, and 80 to 99.
Players who make the 53 man roster cannot share numbers, however while teams are allowed to have a 90-man roster, players may share numbers so long as they do not play on the same side of the ball, offense, defense or special teams. On official roster reports, a designation of “o” or “d” follows the number to indicate that the player shares the number but plays on offense or defense, respectively. Less commonly, players who primarily play on special teams but share a number will have an “s” designation.
Of the Eagles’ six defensive draft picks, Jihaad Campbell will wear number 30, Andrew Mukuba will wear number 24, Ty Robinson will wear 95, Mac McWilliams will wear 22, Smael Mondon Jr. has been assigned 42d, and Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr. has number 93. Mondon shares 42 with Giles Jackson, an undrafted free agent who the Eagles picked up for wide receiver.
For the offensive draft picks, Drew Kendall will wear 66, Kyle McCord will wear 19, Myles Hinton will wear 78, and Cameron Williams will wear 73.
Players can change their number at any time before the season as long as it doesn’t conflict with another number. This was notably exercised a few years ago when the NFL reintroduced the number 0 as a viable number for some positions; the number had been banned since 1973, as 12 players converted to the number. For the Eagles, Jalen Hurts started his NFL career as number 2 before changing to number 1 after the Carson Wentz trade.
