The New York Giants announced today that they are keeping General Manager Joe Schoen following their 3-14 season.

The announcement, which came over X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning, also said the team will keep Brian Daboll on as head coach.

Schoen was the GM responsible for allowing the Eagles to acquire RB Saquon Barkley in free agency this offseason. Barkley signed a three year, $37.5 million contract with the Eagles this offseason and went on to lead the league in rushing yards, falling just 101 yards shy of breaking the single-season rushing record. The Giants, meanwhile, were among the worst teams in the league statistically and their starters were defeated by the Eagles’ third string QB Tanner McKee in the final game of the season.

“Steve [Tisch, Chairman and Executive Vice President] and I remain confident in the process that Joe and Brian have implemented and their vision for our team,” said Giants President John Mara in the statement.

Schoen was hired by the Giants in 2022 and was the first general manager hired by the Giants in 40 years with no prior franchise ties. He began his career in the Carolina Panthers scouting department and spent time with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills before being hired by the Giants.
