Kenny-Pickett

The Eagles have reportedly traded for Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Kenny Pickett.

First broken by Adam Schefter, Pickett will be a backup to Jalen Hurts following the departure of Marcus Mariota in free agency. Mariota was signed by the Washington Commanders.

The move comes as part of a pick swap between the two teams. The Eagles moved back 22 spots in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, going from 98 overall to 120 overall. They also sent the Steelers two picks in the 2025 draft.

Pickett had a 62% completion rating during the 2023 regular season, going 201 for 324 and amassing 2,070 passing yards. He threw four picks and was sacked 23 times.

The trade has similar reported value as the trade between the Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks for Sam Howell. Howell was sent there for a third and a fifth round pick this year. For a player who was a first round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, this is a solid pickup for the team to be a backup to Jalen Hurts.
