NFL Schedule Reportedly to be Released on May 15
The 2024 NFL Schedule will be released on Wednesday May 15, 2024, according to reports from Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal.
Teams were reportedly informed of the date via a memo distributed today by the league.
Though teams know the opponents they will face immediately after the regular season concludes as this is formulaic, the NFL works with broadcast networks and teams to develop the schedule over the ensuing months. In recent years, the NFL has partnered with Amazon Web Services to complete this task.
A text message to an NFL spokesperson seeking to confirm this report was not answered by press time.
The Philadelphia Eagles already know one of their games this year. The Eagles will take on the Green Bay Packers in the season opener in São Paulo, Brazil on September 6. The game will air exclusively on Peacock nationally, but fans in the Philadelphia and Green Bay television markets will be able to catch the game on their local NBC stations, NBC 10 WCAU-TV in Philadelphia and NBC 26 WGBA-TV in Green Bay.
In conjunction with the official announcement, teams typically post social media videos highlighting the team’s schedule. Schedule release day is often viewed as the Super Bowl for each team’s social media staff. The Eagles’ 2023 announcement included footage of pets owned by players, coaches, and front office personnel.
