Eagles T Lane Johnson, who left Sunday night’s game against the Detroit Lions early, is reported to have sustained a Lisfranc sprain, according to sources speaking to The Athletic, which could cause a 4-6 week absence.

The All Pro tackle left the game in the first quarter, and was initially questionable to return. Johnson was downgraded to Out midway through the third quarter.

A Lisfranc injury is an injury to the midfoot, which is caused by bone fractures, torn ligaments, or a combination of the two. Depending on the severity of the injury, non-surgical treatments may be available, but the usual turnaround time is up to six weeks.

Johnson has been an anchor on the offensive line for years, and until DE Brandon Graham returned from retirement, was the longest-tenured player on the 2025 Philadelphia Eagles. Since Johnson joined the team, the Eagles are 110-57-1 when he plays in the game, and are just 15-23 without him.

“He’s the best offensive lineman that’s [expletive] come through the Eagles,” observed C Cam Jurgens. “You’re going to notice that, when he’s on or off the field.”

This is the second week in a row that Johnson left a game midway through. Against Green Bay, Johnson left the game due to an ankle injury sustained in the first quarter, and returned by the end of the game, though he seemed to be playing through pain. Johnson was limited in practice on Tuesday leading up to the matchup against the Lions, but was a full participant the rest of the week.

With Johnson likely sidelined, the Eagles have a few options at right tackle. Fred Johnson is the immediate backup to the injured Johnson, with Matt Pryor waiting in the wings as well should Fred be needed elsewhere.
