Lane Johnson has agreed to a one year extension with the Eagles.

The deal, first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is reportedly worth more than $33.4 million, with $30 million guaranteed. The deal keeps Johnson on the offensive line through 2026.

Johnson is a player whose presence is noticed on the offensive line, and his absence is also noticed. Johnson hasn’t surrendered a sack since the 2020-21 NFL season, as Schefter noted. Johnson also played through the entire postseason with a torn adductor, which he sustained during the regular season and which forced him to miss the Week 17 game versus the New Orleans Saints and the Week 18 regular season finale versus the New York Giants. He underwent surgery to repair the adductor shortly after the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII appearance and faced a 10-12 week recovery.

The 32 year old right tackle made his fourth career Pro Bowl team and earned All Pro honors during the 2022-23 season. Arguably one of the best tackles in the NFL, Johnson had previously said he’d be good to play at least two more seasons after the one that just concluded. It’s likely he will have at least three based on the extension.
